How it works

Three steps to stress-free shopping

Pick your store

Biedronka, Lidl, Rossmann or a local shop — see the gluten-free products others have already found there, with the price and when they were last seen on the shelf.

Check before you buy

Browse products verified by the community. The “Certified” and “From composition” badges tell you where the information comes from, and “seen 2 days ago” tells you how fresh the data is.

Add and improve

People build this database. Add new products (the EAN scanner does half the work), review them, update prices and report corrections — and earn reputation points for your contributions.

Features

Everything you need on a gluten-free diet

From the store shelf, through the restaurant, to shopping together as a family.

Products in your store

A database built store by store. You see the price, availability and when a product was last seen — the fresher the data, the more confident the purchase.

Add a product in a minute

The EAN barcode scanner helps you add products: scan the packaging, fill in the details and submit. After verification the product joins the database for everyone.

Store map

See which nearby stores are open now, browse their latest gluten-free finds and navigate with a single tap.

Shopping lists and family group

Create lists, check off products in the store and share them with your family group — everyone sees changes in real time.

Celiac cards

In a restaurant, show a ready-made card that clearly explains your diet. No long explanations, no misunderstandings when you order.

Community and ranking

Likes, comments, correction reports and price updates — people review products and keep the database accurate. The best contributors make it onto the leaderboard.

On your wrist

Your shopping list always at hand. Literally.

SafeBite also runs on Apple Watch and Wear OS. Check off your shopping without taking out your phone, and watch-face complications give you one-glance access to the app.

Community & FAQ

We play fair

SafeBite is a helper tool, not an oracle. That's why we deliberately don't show ingredient lists, we mark the source of every piece of information, and we remind you of one thing:

Always check the product label before eating. Manufacturers can change recipes without notice — the final check is up to you.

Join the community and help other celiacs find safe products.

What do the “Certified” vs “From composition” badges mean?

“Certified” — the product has the official Crossed Grain symbol. “From composition” — the product is considered gluten-free based on ingredient analysis, but without an official certificate.

Why is there no product composition listed?

It's a deliberate decision — compositions change and the app might not keep up with updates. We don't want to give a false sense of security. Always check the product label.

Do I need to log in?

Browsing products works without logging in. An account (Google or Apple) is needed to add products, like them, report problems and update prices.

How do I add a product to the app?

The “Add” tab → scan the barcode or enter it manually → fill in the name, category and store → optionally add a photo, price and brand. Your submission is verified before it's published.
